Job Description
We are seeking a Sales Manager to join their Sandton branch. The role involves managing the sales team effectively in line with company strategy and driving results through people. The Sales Manager will lead and motivate a team of sales representatives to meet and exceed sales targets, requiring strong leadership, communication, and sales management skills to develop and execute sales strategies.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Budgets: Formulate annual budgets based on business plans aligned with company strategy.
- Sales Team Management / Target Achievement: Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing sales team; provide coaching and mentorship; set and monitor sales targets; conduct performance reviews.
- Customer Centricity: Maintain high company image and focus sales efforts on target markets.
- Product Focus: Maintain brand sales according to company strategy; implement monthly sales initiatives.
- Employee Engagement: Promote high morale and motivation; uphold company values.
- Inventory Control: Oversee stock levels, backorders, and aging product lines; develop sell-out strategies.
- Training: Ensure regular staff training and record updates.
- Staff Reviews: Conduct monthly reviews of staff performance and target achievement.
- Accounts Receivables / Credit: Minimize risks, review aging analysis, and liaise with customers regarding payments; oversee credit applications.
- Expense Control: Monitor expenses through financial analysis monthly.
- Information Technology: Maintain systems with IT support, ensure backups, and train users.
- Sales Meetings: Conduct weekly meetings to ensure smooth operations and team feedback.
- HR Responsibilities: Handle disciplinary actions, performance discussions, staff development, recruitment, and succession planning.
- Sales Strategy Development: Develop and execute sales strategies, conduct market research, and build customer relationships.
- Sales Process Management: Oversee the entire sales process, implement CRM tools, and analyze sales data.
- Sales Reporting: Prepare reports, track KPIs, and identify improvement areas.
- Team Motivation & Development: Foster a positive environment, recognize achievements, and promote professional growth.
- Operational Management: Manage day-to-day sales operations, resource allocation, and ensure policy compliance.
Educational Requirements
- Grade 12
- Relevant tertiary qualification
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3 years management experience in the IT sector
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
- Performance management and interpersonal skills
- Good computer literacy
- Ability to interpret financial statements
- Self-motivated leader with high standards
