Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in high-end travel or hospitality sales, with at least 2 in a Sales Manager role.
  • Proven success meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • An existing network of luxury travel industry contacts is a big plus.

We Are Africa forms part of the This is Beyond group of companies headquartered in the UK, with a regional office in Cape Town responsible for organising a portfolio of B2B travel trade events including We Are Africa (Cape Town), We Are Africa North America (USA), and Do Not Disturb (Italy).

Who we’re looking for

We’re on the hunt for a confident, commercially driven Sales Manager with a deep passion for luxury travel and relationship-building. You’ll play a pivotal role in curating the incredible exhibitor line-up across our events by nurturing existing client relationships and strategically bringing on board new high-end hotels, travel brands and hospitality providers. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, love closing a deal, and be passionate about creating unforgettable experiences for our exhibitors.

This is a senior role requiring sharp commercial acumen, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to lead by example. You’ll report directly to the Head of Sales and work collaboratively with colleagues across our events, marketing, and operations teams.

What you"ll do
  • Secure new exhibitors and sponsors aligned to our event portfolio
  • Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with high-end travel brands
  • Develop tailored proposals and pitch our events with confidence and creativity
  • Deliver persuasive presentations and manage pricing, contracts and negotiations
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to inform your sales strategy
  • Keep the CRM (Salesforce) updated with pipeline progress, reports and key metrics
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure the seamless delivery of exhibitor experience
  • Mentor and support junior sales team members
  • Attend international client meetings and industry events as required
What you’ll bring
  • 5+ years of experience in high-end travel or hospitality sales, with at least 2 in a Sales Manager role
  • Proven success meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • An existing network of luxury travel industry contacts is a big plus
  • Experience working with B2B trade shows or luxury travel events preferred
  • Confident communicator and skilled negotiator
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • A proactive, strategic mindset and natural relationship-builder
  • Willingness to travel, including internationally, as required

Role Type: Permanent, 4-day working week (4 days for 5 days’ pay!)

Working pattern: Hybrid – 3 days in the office, 1 day from home, and every Friday off as standard. Occasional international travel required.
