SUMMARY:
POSITION INFO:
PURPOSE OF JOB
To maintain and grow market share for the corporate franchise, supermarket chains, and independent clients within the designated area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Sales & Marketing
- Actively canvassing and cold calling extensively on potential customers as allocated on the “Account Allocation Chart”.
- Acquiring new and opposition franchisees (Spar and OK Foods) and growing market share.
- Replacing equipment older than 5 years.
- Advising clients on and selling new value-adding products to enhance their businesses.
- Obtaining planned rollouts for the year from clients in the region and targeting new franchise stores through meetings, visits, and cold calling.
- Negotiating pricing within set parameters.
- Calling on 10-15 customers per day (approximately 60 per week).
- Keeping market share reports updated.
- Selling equipment and consumables as per the budget.
- Visiting customers Monday to Thursday, with sales management meetings on Fridays.
Project Management
- Ensuring service provision to new clients with installations done effectively per the Installations Checklist.
- Verifying correct invoicing from the sales order and completion of the invoice and Checklist.
- Getting signed confirmation from the Service Manager and customer that installation was successful.
Customer Relations
- Maintaining sound relations with clients through visits and/or calls at least 4 times annually.
- Ensuring client satisfaction and reporting issues to the Service Manager or escalating to the Branch Manager if needed.
- Managing customer complaints and resolving issues effectively.
Reporting and Feedback
- Meeting regularly with the Branch Manager to discuss results and sales metrics.
- Providing formal written reports after each meeting.
- Reporting weekly on activities, client visits, and general comments (Skynamo Report).
- Updating the “Spar Members List” and “OK Foods Members List”.
- Discussing strategies for new products and exhibitions in meetings.
- Arranging meetings between customers and international suppliers when required.
- Contributing to budget planning with inputs to the Branch Manager and Finance Department.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Grade 12.
- 1-3 years sales experience.
