Job description

As the marine and diving salesperson for Gauteng and surrounding areas, you will be responsible for sales of international marine brands and Aqualung diving gear, utilizing your knowledge and experience in the recreational and light-commercial sectors of the boating and diving industries.

This role requires a self-driven individual with broad technical product knowledge and a commitment to providing excellent customer support.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Developing the market in Gauteng and surrounding areas for marine and boating equipment, including potential customers in other sectors.
  2. Sales and support to new and existing dealers of diving equipment.
  3. Inventory management and control.
  4. Compiling and placing orders with overseas suppliers.

Requirements include:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the marine recreational/semi-commercial and diving sectors, dealing with OEMs and wholesalers.
  • SCUBA qualification.
  • Master Diver certification (beneficial).
  • Skippers Ticket (beneficial).

The key requirements of a Marine & Diving Sales Executive are:

  • On-road sales trips—weekly with key accounts and fortnightly with smaller accounts.
  • Quarterly out-of-town sales trips by region.
  • Managing sales processes including quotations, order preparations, picking, delivery, and courier dispatch details.
  • Managing back orders of products and spares with dealers.
  • Expanding our network through new client acquisition in diving, marine, and watersport markets.
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with dealers.
  • Understanding customer needs and managing expectations.
  • Increasing sales through upselling and cross-selling.
  • Managing client complaints and resolving issues.
  • Communicating effectively with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  • Negotiating sales contracts and maintaining sales agreements to meet targets.
