Job description

As the marine and diving salesperson for Gauteng and surrounding areas, you will be responsible for sales of international marine brands and Aqualung diving gear, leveraging your knowledge and experience in the recreational and light-commercial sectors of the boating and diving industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop the market in Gauteng for marine and boating equipment, including potential customers in other sectors.
  2. Sales and support to new and existing dealers of diving equipment.
  3. Inventory management and control, including placing orders with overseas suppliers.
  4. Conduct on-road sales trips to key accounts weekly and smaller accounts bi-weekly.
  5. Perform out-of-town sales trips quarterly by region.
  6. Handle quotations, preparations, picking, delivery, and courier dispatch details.
  7. Manage back orders and spares with dealers.
  8. Expand the network through new client acquisition across all diving, marine, and watersport markets.
  9. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with the dealer base.
  10. Understand customer needs and develop strategies to meet and exceed expectations.
  11. Upsell and cross-sell products to increase sales.
  12. Manage client complaints and resolve issues effectively.
  13. Communicate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  14. Negotiate and manage sales agreements with clients to meet targets.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the marine recreational/semi-commercial and diving sectors, dealing with OEMs and wholesalers.
  • SCUBA qualification.
  • Master Diver certification.
  • Beneficial: Skippers Ticket.
