Our client, a leading supplier in the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) industry is seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Executive to manage and grow sales across the Gauteng region. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue from both new and existing clients, introducing and expanding key product categories, and actively promoting the company’s brand within a highly competitive market.

- Generating Sales from New and Existing Businesses
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify and evaluate prospective customers.
- Analyse organizational structures and decision-makers (e.g. SHEQ Managers, Buyers, Safety Officers).
- Compile and execute strategic plans for targeted accounts.
- Perform PPE Assessments and provide product recommendations, education, and samples.
- Maintain an average of 6 customer meetings per day (Monday–Thursday).
- Ensure consistent follow-up on leads, quotations, and orders to close business.
- Achieving Monthly and Annual Sales Targets
- Meet or exceed agreed monthly and annual sales budgets.
- Track sales performance, and carry forward shortfalls to ensure annual targets are met.
- Submit accurate weekly reports by Thursday and detailed monthly performance reports before month-end.
- Client Relationship Management and Service Delivery
- Provide product and safety training to end users as per customer requirements.
- Ensure efficient turnaround of quotes (within 24–48 hours).
- Monitor order delivery and invoicing to meet customer expectations.
- Resolve client queries and complaints with urgency and professionalism.
- Maintain an up-to-date customer database and log all communication and activity.
- Actively grow market share in underdeveloped or new industries, including: Agriculture/Food, Hospitality, Medical, Manufacturing
- Retail (e.g. Build IT, Bucco, Builders Warehouse, Massmart outlets)
- Promote and introduce the brand and full PPE product portfolio to all prospective clients.
- Support retail and hardware store expansion through product education and merchandising support.
- Attend all internal product and sales training sessions.
- Participate in supplier-led training to enhance product knowledge and selling skills.
- Stay updated with internal processes and reporting tools.
- Identify new business opportunities, product gaps, and industry trends.
- Contribute to business development by recommending market-specific initiatives.
- Assist with onboarding and mentoring of new sales representatives as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12 with Mathematics or Business Economics (Essential)
- Tertiary qualification or diploma in Sales and Marketing (Preferred)
- Occupational Health & Safety-related courses (Advantageous)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of successful sales experience
- Experience in PPE or industrial supplies sector (Advantageous)
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets
