Job description

This role is ideal for a results-driven sales professional with a strong focus on business development, relationship building, and identifying new market opportunities—backed by a company known for its industry expertise and established network.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. South African citizen.
  2. Code B driver's license and own transport.
  3. Office and client facing; available for network opportunities.
  4. Willing to work overtime and be available after business hours.
  5. Travelling to clients.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  1. Senior certificate (NQF 4).
  2. Relevant Sales, Marketing or Business qualification will be an advantage.
  3. Sales training will be beneficial.
  4. 2-3 Years work-related skill, knowledge and/or experience will be an advantage.
  5. Sales experience in the Clearing & Forwarding industry will be an advantage.

CAPABILITIES & COMPETENCIES

  1. Knowledge and understanding of the Clearing and Forwarding industry, including Full Supply Chain, Imports and Exports process flows.
  2. Highly motivated and driven individual.
  3. Well groomed, friendly, and professional.
  4. Ability to enter new markets.
  5. Extremely good communication with internal and external clients.
  6. Strong understanding of client and market dynamics and requirements.
  7. Excellent English and Afrikaans oral and written communication skills.
  8. Computer literate (MS Office).
  9. Knowledge of competitors in industry.
  10. Sales and Marketing: Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting, and selling products or services, including sales to individual and/or corporate clients.
  11. Excellent interpersonal skills.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  1. Achieved sales targets.
  2. Forecasting and monthly reporting.
  3. Timeous Pro Forma invoices and invoicing.
  4. New business opportunities identified.
  5. Securing new Business Appointments.
  6. Quality and quantity of proposals and/or quotes presented to prospective clients.
  7. Number of new clients successfully closed and active on the system.
  8. Profitability/quality of all transactions executed.
  9. Professional, accurate and timeous proposals for clients.
  10. Effective tracking of deals.
  11. Client retention.
  12. Excellent customer service.
  13. Maintained relationships (positive client feedback).
  14. Negotiation of contracts/quotes with clients.

The proposed salary for the role is a basic of R35k - R45k per month with additional commission incentives. The basic salary will be determined based on the value you are expected to bring to the business, taking into account your sales track record, industry network, and proposed performance targets.
