The sales executive is responsible for helping build up a business by identifying new business prospects and selling products to them.
They must maintain relationships with current clients and build and maintain relationships with new clients, searching out business leads.
Responsibilities
- Develop monthly sales reports
- Contribute to the preparation of business plans and forecasts
- Work with the sales team to plan and execute territory management plans
- Assist the Managing Director with overall department operations
- Support deal negotiations, contract development, and other business development projects
- Develop financial justifications, prepare proposals, make presentations, and follow up for successful sales closures
- Promote and sell CPS Machines
- Achieve sales targets and maintain budget compliance
- Gather and communicate customer feedback
- Stay updated on new CPS products and features
- Organize and plan sales events
- Support tenders, proposals, and quotations administration
- Generate new leads and opportunities
- Implement and monitor individual territory sales plans
- Monitor sales performance per account
- Report competitor activity and customer requirements
- Operate within budget and manage costs
- Liaise with bid teams and other departments for bids
Sales Software
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales opportunities in the sales system
- Generate sales pipeline reports
- Manage sales pipeline effectively
Client Relationship & Administration
- Build and maintain close relationships with clients’ acquisition personnel
- Seek and develop new sales opportunities
- Monitor competition activity and report to management
- Use software packages to produce correspondence, reports, and maintain records
- Attend client meetings
- Assist in preparing financial and resource reports
- Ensure expenses and reports comply with budgets
- Manage calendar and appointments
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Business Administration, Sales, and Marketing or equivalent (highly preferable but not essential with sufficient experience)
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Minimum 3+ years proven sales experience, preferably in Africa, with banks, retailers, or cash and carry operators
- Experience in proposal writing and product sales in similar industries
- Ability to build strong relationships at all levels
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Results-driven attitude
- Credibility with government officials
- Regional sales experience and knowledge of cash handling equipment are advantageous
Working Conditions
- Extensive travel within Africa required
- Typical workweek of 40 hours, with additional hours for projects or deadlines
- Use of standard office equipment
