Our client is seeking a dynamic Sales Executive who will be responsible for structuring deals and closing on leads that are self-sourced in the market and through your network
- Your focus will be 100% on funding and growing SMEs – primarily Retail, Wholesale and Manufacturing business owners who are busy and need working capital with quick turnarounds.
- You will be responsible for structuring deals and closing on leads that are self-sourced in the market and through your network.
- Support will be available from the Head of Sales and Marketing to guide how to attract clients and access to the Sales Development function for cold calling on your behalf if needed.
- Your targets may be supplemented by leads generated through online applications and the Partnership channel; however, this is primarily and outbound, relationship sales role.
- Engagement with customers is primarily via telephone and email with some face to face
Key Responsibilities
- Sales
- Meet and exceed your monthly and quarterly sales targets of the Merchant Cash Advance and other ancillary products, within the pricing parameters set.
- Prospect from the market, referrals, and your network, and sometimes the CRM base to obtain leads and sales qualified leads.
- Client care
- Clearly communicate the product offering and qualification criteria, while actively listening to clients’ needs in order to tailor and position the value proposition effectively.
- Ensure that all agreed objectives and expectations with the prospect are achieved.
- Build your reputation and network
- Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders and prospects on a continuous basis to maximize sales.
- Use calls, marketing material, visits if this is feasible, and automated nurturing to achieve a front-of-mind position with prospects,
- Leverage the sales structure and marketing support to build your network further in the market. Self-management within the sales process
- Maintain disciplined use of the CRM system, ensuring your pipeline is accurately documented and up to date to provide full visibility for both yourself and the wider business.
- Stay on top of follow-ups and manage your pipeline efficiently, keeping it well-organised and current.
- Screen merchant’s financial viability, manage expectations, obtain credit related documents from the prospect, and follow all administrative process requirements
- Decline or prepare quotation (Price, Deal Value) based on credit info and insight at this stage of the sales process.
- Ensure accurate preparation of the credit pack for presentation to the Underwriting department, summarizing the following:
o Details of credit application, including details of reference checks and investigation into the personal characteristics of the applicant.
o Assessment of merchant statements and bank statements of credit applicant
o Summarize “probing questions” to clients on transactions and behaviours.
Qualifications
- Matric
- Business Management Diploma or Degree or similar (advantageous).
Experience
- 3 years’ relevant work experience in a sales environment.
- Financial and mathematical understanding.
