Sales Executive - Commercial / Heavy Vehicle Industry - Pinetown, KZN

Reference: Cen-E-1

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Planning
  • Properly plan all sales activity for allocated strategic accounts.
  • Provide customers with a point of contact scenario.
  • Apply the retail pricing framework sensibly and profitably.
  • Ensure efficient liaison meetings at the dealer level.
  • Coordinate after-sales activities for strategic accounts.
  • Provide transport consultancy services demonstrating total operating costs.
  • Manage positive supplier relationships.
  • Contribute to sales CSM results, and grow customer satisfaction and relationships.
  • Provide sales engineering services for correct vehicle selection.
  • Apply strict measures to the company's SHE policy at all times.
  • Ensure best practices are always applied.
  • Housekeeping
    • Maintain proper housekeeping in and around the facility.
  • Sales Targets
    • Achieve or exceed annual targets (unit sales, market share, gross profit).
    • Utilize only approved suppliers to ensure vehicle warranty remains intact.
  • Key Drivers
    • Understand the deal process including closure, vehicle selection, delivery, payment, and deal file closure.
  • Customer Relations
    • Maintain high levels of customer interaction and keep clients updated.
    • Follow-up weekly with prospective customers via phone or email.
    • Visit prospective customers at least twice a month.
    • Contact current customers monthly via phone and follow-up with visits.
  • Customer Retention & Growth
    • Keep the customer database synchronized with the company database.
    • Update the database regularly and share updates with the Sales Manager and Sales Administrator.
  • Monitoring & Administration
    • Ensure timely invoicing and support the process.
    • Manage vehicle payments and debtors within agreed terms.
    • Ensure cash transactions are paid in full.
    • Take corrective actions on discrepancies.
  • Customer Care
    • Maintain high levels of customer interaction and feedback.
    • Promote the company as a trustworthy and reliable brand.
  • Electronic Selling Tools (TRANSOLVE / HTM)
    • Prepare and present quotations with relevant drawings and route simulations.
    • Contribute to departmental and company sales and profitability goals.

    Requirements

    • Matric Certificate or higher.
    • At least 5 years of new truck sales experience.
    • Knowledge of trucks and the industry.
    • Own database for sales activities.
    • Proven sales record.
    • Knowledge of Road Traffic Act and Regulations.
    • Experience with HTM / Transolve.
    • Ability to understand CPK calculations.
    • Knowledge of vehicle body specifications and legal requirements.
    • Willingness to learn and share knowledge.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • Integrity and honesty.
    • Ability to read and write in English.
    • Code 10 or 14 driver license is advantageous.

    Package & Remuneration

    Monthly salary plus commission, travel allowance, medical allowance, and provident fund.
