Lindt & Sprüngli (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd, established in May 2011, is part of the Lindt & Sprüngli group. Based in Cape Town with regional offices in Johannesburg, Durban, and Port Elizabeth, the company employs over 120 staff and operates 16 retail stores.

As a global leader in premium chocolate, Lindt & Sprüngli has a tradition spanning nearly 175 years, originating in Zurich, Switzerland. The company operates 12 manufacturing sites across Europe and the USA, with distribution through 28 subsidiaries, over 500 stores and cafes, and a network of more than 100 independent distributors. Key Responsibilities
  1. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  2. Manage expenses to stay within set budgets.
  3. Maintain an average call rate of approximately 8 calls per day.
  4. Prepare thoroughly for each call, including weekly, cyclical, and yearly planning.
  5. Develop a call plan with a specific Rand value target for each customer, incorporating previous shortfalls.
  6. Ensure all calls include activities such as placing orders, updating stock counts, ensuring customer compliance with listings, maintaining shelf health, and managing promotional materials.
  7. Monitor stock pressure, rotation, and expiry, taking action as needed.
  8. Ensure correct product layout, price labels, and clean shelf trays.
  9. Negotiate for increased shelf space, eye-level placement, and promotional displays.
  10. Discuss promotional progress with store management during each call, using data from COGNOS and IRI.
  11. Negotiate promotional elements like shelf space, display positioning, price reductions, and stock levels.
  12. Monitor sales performance and compile monthly reports on area performance, reasons for success or failure, and action plans for underperforming stores.
  13. Use handheld devices to collect and report data accurately on calls and customer information.
  14. Collaborate with merchandising partners and supervise in-store merchandisers, providing ongoing training.
  15. Maintain daily contact with the Regional Sales Manager and report non-compliance issues.
