Sales Engineer Past Extrusion & Milling Bakery FHT
Responsibilities / Tasks
- Plan and carry out direct marketing and sales activities within agreed budgets (Order intake, Sales Gross Margins).
- Achieve sales targets and focus on growth opportunities in the entire region (Southern and Eastern Africa).
- Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned visits and liaise with internal order processing staff.
- Increase market penetration and coverage through regular face-to-face meetings with customers and potential customers (Maintain iBase customers and Business Development).
- Conduct market research on competitors and market surveys.
- Plan, organize, and control the sales cycle from initial customer contact to Service Level Agreement post-project.
- Maintain customer and opportunity data on GEA SharePoint and record all sales activities on the CRM platform.
- This position requires a self-starter capable of completing tasks promptly.
- Must have a mindset focused on continuous improvement (Hunter mindset).
- Develop ideas and create offers for sales and marketing for all accounts. Respond to and follow up on sales inquiries via telephone, email, and personal visits.
- Support and develop existing and new customers through planned account management and liaising with internal order processing staff.
- Monitor and report activities, providing relevant management information.
- Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions to facilitate business and organizational development.
- Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
- Coordinate with relevant personnel for ordering, transportation, delivery, and installation of equipment.
- Create a network of contacts across disciplines to access resources both within and outside the organization.
- Remain confident when dealing with negative situations, persuade others, generate new ideas, and encourage innovative solutions to problems.
Your Profile / Qualifications
- Technical or marketing tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in similar roles.
- Extensive front sales experience in a technical environment.
- Practical knowledge of the complete sales process within a multinational (e.g., ordering, pricing, CRM).
- Proven skills in international negotiation and contracting across multiple countries.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
- Technical sales experience in the Food and Healthcare industry is advantageous.
- Broad international business understanding with a focus on customer needs and fulfillment.
- Open-minded, solution-oriented, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Team player, good networker, and negotiator with excellent communication skills.
- Strong customer orientation and ability to engage at various levels.
- Deep understanding of global compliance regulations.
