Job description

Sales Engineer Past Extrusion & Milling Bakery FHT

Responsibilities / Tasks
  1. Plan and carry out direct marketing and sales activities within agreed budgets (Order intake, Sales Gross Margins).
  2. Achieve sales targets and focus on growth opportunities in the entire region (Southern and Eastern Africa).
  3. Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned visits and liaise with internal order processing staff.
  4. Increase market penetration and coverage through regular face-to-face meetings with customers and potential customers (Maintain iBase customers and Business Development).
  5. Conduct market research on competitors and market surveys.
  6. Plan, organize, and control the sales cycle from initial customer contact to Service Level Agreement post-project.
  7. Maintain customer and opportunity data on GEA SharePoint and record all sales activities on the CRM platform.
  8. This position requires a self-starter capable of completing tasks promptly.
  9. Must have a mindset focused on continuous improvement (Hunter mindset).
  10. Develop ideas and create offers for sales and marketing for all accounts. Respond to and follow up on sales inquiries via telephone, email, and personal visits.
  11. Support and develop existing and new customers through planned account management and liaising with internal order processing staff.
  12. Monitor and report activities, providing relevant management information.
  13. Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions to facilitate business and organizational development.
  14. Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
  15. Coordinate with relevant personnel for ordering, transportation, delivery, and installation of equipment.
  16. Create a network of contacts across disciplines to access resources both within and outside the organization.
  17. Remain confident when dealing with negative situations, persuade others, generate new ideas, and encourage innovative solutions to problems.
Your Profile / Qualifications
  1. Technical or marketing tertiary qualification.
  2. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in similar roles.
  3. Extensive front sales experience in a technical environment.
  4. Practical knowledge of the complete sales process within a multinational (e.g., ordering, pricing, CRM).
  5. Proven skills in international negotiation and contracting across multiple countries.
  6. Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
  7. Technical sales experience in the Food and Healthcare industry is advantageous.
  8. Broad international business understanding with a focus on customer needs and fulfillment.
  9. Open-minded, solution-oriented, and strong problem-solving skills.
  10. Team player, good networker, and negotiator with excellent communication skills.
  11. Strong customer orientation and ability to engage at various levels.
  12. Deep understanding of global compliance regulations.
