This position is for a Sales Engineer based in Middleburg. The role's primary purpose is to increase profitable market share in a geographic area that includes African countries. The successful candidate will service and maintain the existing client base.

Sales Engineer - Middleburg
  • Sell and secure orders for engineered industrial products and services to decision-makers in industries such as raw materials, steel, power, oil and gas, through a relationship-based approach.
  • Research and analyze the market to understand key business drivers, influences, competitor activity, and market potential in the mining and metals industry.
  • Conduct product application audits at customer facilities.
  • Drive market share penetration and growth within existing business bases.
  • Ensure quality in client call reports.
  • Maintain CRM data integrity, ensuring accuracy of client information.
Ideal Qualifications and Experience
  • National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in mining, power, oil, and gas industries.
  • Strong selling experience.
  • Experience with commercial service agreements or contracts.
Business Competencies
  • Understanding of competitor activities and market drivers.
  • Knowledge of power and mining industries.
  • Understanding of products and SWOT analysis.
  • Familiarity with Voith terminology.
  • Knowledge of drivelines (motor couplings, gearboxes) used in heavy industry.
