Eaton is a global power management company with a significant presence in Johannesburg, South Africa.

We specialize in electrical systems for power quality, distribution, and control, as well as systems and services for industrial and mobile equipment. Our team at Eaton's Johannesburg office is composed of skilled professionals dedicated to providing top-notch power management solutions and is known for its commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. We are recruiting for a Sales Engineer.

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining a customer database, promoting Eaton products and services, and providing technical and commercial support to customers.

This role involves identifying opportunities, resolving problems, and acting as a deputy to team leaders. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Achieving sales targets while adhering to Eaton's market strategy;
  2. Staying informed about Eaton's products and market strategies;
  3. Managing and promoting channel sales through a distribution model, including joint calls with distribution channel partners to end users, IT resellers, value-added resellers, panel builders, MOEMs, and System Integrators;
  4. Preparing tenders and proposals using MS Office tools;
  5. Possessing strong commercial knowledge;
  6. Creating and delivering presentations on product offerings and technologies;
  7. Developing and maintaining a customer base;
  8. Identifying opportunities to offer Eaton products and services;
  9. Resolving problems using established policies and improvement techniques;
  10. Acting as a deputy to team leaders, coordinating team activities, and advising colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • A Commercial or Marketing Degree / Diploma;
  • 3-5 years sales experience in electrical products.

Skills:

  • Good understanding of IT channel or EWS route to market;
  • Ability to use the xEnergy Configurator, XSpider Software (Circuit breaker cascading and coordination tool);
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills;
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced and changing market environment;
  • Ability to coach and train people/customers.
