Job summary

Tiger Brands is seeking a data analyst to support the Sales team through data analysis, collating feedback and delivering insights that drive informed decision making. You will be a functional expert on all external and internal databases, systems and tools used for evaluating and predicting sales trends and creating reports to support promotional strategies.

In this role, you will analyze past sales data, study market trends, and present findings to Customer managers and directors.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience in data analysis or sales analytics.
• Proficient with sales software and customer data tools (Smart Shopper, Dunnhumby, Nielsen, Shoprite B2B, Spar Insights, MicroStrategy, DataOrbis).
• Knowledge of the retail industry.
• Advanced MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Collect data from sales reports for analysis.
• Develop methods for assessing large data sets.
• Identify trends in past sales data to inform strategies.
• Examine company budget.
• Research competitive market.
• Study shopper purchase trends.
• Use sales prediction software to forecast trends.
• Create and present sales evaluation reports to managers.
• Suggest adjustments to promotional strategies to improve profitability.
• Assist in budget and marketing changes and evaluate results.
• Lead informational sessions on sales trends and marketing strategies.
• Contribute to company restructuring reporting.
