Summary

The sales consultant role is centered on generating sales for the business and ensuring all related processes run smoothly to fulfill our client’s needs.

The company's sales processes are followed, with a sales dialogue focused on client needs over product features.

Sales volumes are achieved according to targets discussed with the candidate.

The pipeline is managed with sufficient deals at all sales stages to effectively manage sales, targets, costs, commissions, and bonuses.

Primary responsibilities of the sales consultant

The sales consultant must understand all services and products offered by the company. Training will be provided upon joining.

The role involves researching, finding, and assimilating leads, prospects, and potential customers to generate high sales activity and closure rates.

The sales consultant must demonstrate superior skills in generating and prospecting new leads.

Making daily new business appointments through face-to-face meetings with prospects and potential customers is essential.

Understanding the industry specifics, including:

  • Industrial and retail racking and shelving systems
  • Mezzanine flooring
  • Material handling products

Measuring and calculating client requirements for racking, shelving, and mezzanine flooring in various settings.

Managing supply, installation, after-sales support, and product maintenance.

Utilizing CAD for designing and drawing customer specifications.

Managing the sales process from sourcing new clients to closing deals.

Demonstrating advanced product knowledge to clients and internal stakeholders.

Updating all client and lead information in the CRM system and providing regular sales reports.

Meeting client needs to increase sales, adhering to company policies, collaborating across departments, and following up diligently on client queries.

Using technology to enhance company image and sales efforts.

Supporting management with ad-hoc tasks, including training, research, and stakeholder engagement.

Knowledge and experience

  • Strong understanding of sales cycles, pipeline management, and conversion ratios
  • Ability to analyze markets and identify opportunities
  • Excellent sales skills and computer literacy
  • Matric qualification is mandatory
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Minimum of 5 years’ successful sales experience in the industrial racking, shelving, and mezzanine flooring industry
  • Extensive cold calling experience
  • Ability to source deals continuously and schedule meetings
  • Technical proficiency in creating solutions, utilizing CAD, and creating bills of materials
  • Negotiation skills and post-sale service capabilities
  • Ability to build and maintain deep market and client relationships
