Job Description
Areas Of Responsibility :
- Responsible for the sales of Laparoscopy, Surgical & Surgimed products, including maintaining and growing existing business and expanding sales within the assigned territory.
- Scheduling and attending appointments with existing and potential customers.
- Demonstration of products to Clinical personnel.
- Completion of weekly planner and activity report for submission to direct manager.
- Achieving Sales Targets.
- Networking with and developing relationships with new customers and managing existing customers.
- Counting and Management of consignment stock.
- Requesting and following up on quotations.
- General Administration associated with the position.
- All activities to be recorded on Force Manager CRM.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Marketing :
- Assist the National Product Manager with journal clubs, workshops, VISTA meetings, and conferences as needed.
- Assist Sales Managers with sales budgeting per territory for the SBU.
- Implement tactical and strategic plans effectively.
- Conduct marketing activities including congresses, customer workshops, and educational events.
- Make daily calls to customers and prospects.
- Promote all products offered by the company effectively.
- Utilize sales knowledge to highlight product features and benefits.
- Evaluate and report on competitors’ products and drive strategic responses.
Customer Relations :
- Establish and maintain networks with hospital stakeholders: physicians and key opinion leaders.
- Build and sustain strong relations with all stakeholders, including customers, payers, government, and employees.
- Attend appointments with customers and prospects.
- Report to Sales Managers regarding customer interactions.
- Gather customer requirements to ensure satisfaction.
- Assist in congresses and training workshops.
- Manage relationships with customers, prospects, and key opinion leaders.
- Maintain communication with internal departments such as Customer Services, Finance, Logistics, and Management.
- Use customer profiling tools to grow product families aligned with customer needs and business strategy.
- Identify suitable customers for product training to ensure ROI.
Sales Reports and Administration :
- Meet monthly and quarterly sales budgets for the SBU.
- Achieve annual sales targets.
- Assist with tender input, quotes, and other administrative tasks.
- Submit expense claims timely with correct allocations.
- Provide monthly and weekly reports as specified.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, regulations, and ethical standards.
Sales Representative Role :
- Maintain motivation and implement marketing functions effectively.
- Prepare and deliver presentations at meetings.
- Support sales managers with product and clinical queries.
- Manage your portfolio in line with company values.
Training Events :
- Identify and organize educational events for growth.
- Manage workshop activities with the sales team and customers.
- Train new customers on product ranges.
- Participate in planning and executing congresses and educational events.
Reports :
- Adhere to credit policies and maintain administrative responsibilities.
- Ensure all activities comply with legal and ethical standards.
- Manage expenses within the provided budget.
- Record all activities in Force Manager CRM and submit monthly reports.
Stock Management :
- Assist with stock rotation, slow-moving identification, and returns.
- Provide feedback on stock requirements and management of consignment stock.
- Manage boot stock and ensure stock rotation to prevent expiration.
- Evaluate and manage procedural kits if implemented.
Requirements
Education and Qualifications :
- Grade 12 (Matric) minimum requirement.
- Relevant degree or diploma is advantageous.
- Medical management or marketing qualifications are a plus.
Skills and Experience :
- Experience in theatre-based selling is essential.
- Knowledge of laparoscopy and emergency medical devices is advantageous.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Negotiation, project management, and analytical skills.
- Understanding of marketing practices and business drivers.
- Ability to work independently and in teams, with discretion and sound judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the country and abroad.
- Results-driven with strong leadership qualities.
