Job description

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To promote and sell the Bank’s product bouquet to clients through responsible sales activities. Responsible for sourcing and developing new contacts, prospects, and sales leads through the Bank’s internal campaigns and personal referrals.

Key Performance Inputs/Activities

1. Sales Focus

  • Achieve customer growth, revenue, and collections targets as defined by the bank.
  • Meet and exceed individual activity metrics across all product lines.
  • Meet, exceed, and effectively execute all Sales & Customer targets set by the Bank.
  • Implement the Bank's sales strategy regarding Product & Value-Added Services (Up Selling, Cross Selling & Capital Take Up).
  • Make outbound calls to existing and prospective customers.
  • Convert all sales opportunities from inbound requests, outbound calls, lead generation, and customer queries.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers to generate new business.
  • Participate in cross-selling bank products.
  • Maintain detailed pipeline and prospect data management.
  • Arrange in-person visits, appointments, and presentations, following up where necessary.
  • Conduct professional financial needs analyses to identify customer needs that may lead to sales.
  • Schedule customer feedback sessions for document collection and progress updates.
  • Adhere to supervision requirements set by your Line Manager for all financial products.
  • Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to management.
  • Ensure effective Cash Management, CAM Management, and Credit Card Administration & Fulfilment as authorized.
  • Take accountability for your individual results.

2. Marketing Focus

  • Stay informed about products, services, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends.
  • Identify referral opportunities within and around the branch.
  • Support the branch in meeting goals through marketing activities, promotions, telemarketing, and targeted initiatives.
  • Participate in community events to promote the bank and increase business opportunities.
  • Ensure all marketing activities comply with relevant policies and procedures.

3. Risk & Compliance Focus

  • Ensure deal quality by reviewing and completing applications accurately and timely, utilizing all necessary bank tools to mitigate risk.
  • Comply with all policies/procedures related to customer interactions and engagements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and bank policies.
  • Report incidents as required by regulations (AML, fraud, dishonesty).
  • Maintain a zero-defect approach to deal quality and income/expenses capturing.
  • Comply with FAIS journey parameters and guidelines.

4. Customer Service

  • Adhere to the Bank's Customer Service Standards and relevant legislation.
  • Follow TCF principles.
  • Take responsibility for personal behavior and help team members improve customer engagement.
  • Satisfy customers' financial needs and support their financial success.
  • Ensure quality and timeliness in application processing, query resolution, and solution creation.

5. Training & Development

  • Participate in ongoing sales and service training, addressing any deficiencies identified in development plans.
  • Complete all relevant product, service, risk, and compliance training initiatives.

6. Operational Activities

  • Ensure compliance with all security, safety, and operational procedures, including opening/closing, security, and health & safety protocols.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as required by management.

Minimum Education

NQF level 6 FSCA-aligned/business qualification; RE5 preferred.

Minimum Experience

2 years in sales and client service, with full Rep licensing in all product categories.
