About the job: Sales Co (External Applications Only)
Grow sales through constant customer interaction; costing building plans and issuing customers with accurate quotations. Ensure all housekeeping and merchandising standards are maintained at all times. Ensure a cost-effective and efficient delivery service.
Requirements
- Grade 12 plus 5 years of related experience or a minimum of 10 years’ work-related experience
- Plan reading experience would be advantageous
- Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available
- Above average numeric skills
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Proven ability to work under pressure
- Must be computer literate
- Proven strong organizing, planning, and delegation skills
Key Performance Area:
Sales
- Issuing and follow-up of quotations to generate sales
- Quote process and control of special orders
- Reading building plans and ensuring quotations are correct and within the timeframe
- Manage telephone communications, including answering and returning calls, and ensuring follow-ups
- Conduct competitor analysis to ensure store competitiveness
- Communicate bulk deposit transfers to customers
- Promote loyalty programs (VIC and Charge Card Customers)
Deliveries
- Manage an efficient delivery service and ensure correct rates are charged
- Dispatch deliveries within the required time limit
- Communicate delayed deliveries with customers and make appropriate arrangements
Customer Service
- Effective customer service desk management
- Record, follow up, and resolve customer complaints
- Ensure efficient customer service at all times
- Answer calls within the required time with proper etiquette
Store Standards
- Manage the 'Ready for Business' checklists and processes
- Implement price changes as per advertised prices
- Implement planograms
People Management
- Ensure staff are present and available to assist customers
- Ensure backup trained staff are available
- Ensure staff execute their duties effectively
Safety (OHSA) Requirements
- Ensure safety standards are followed
- Ensure staff wear protective clothing and use equipment safely
