About the job: Sales Co (External Applications Only)
Grow sales through constant customer interaction; costing building plans and issuing accurate quotations to customers. Maintain housekeeping and merchandising standards at all times. Ensure a cost-effective and efficient delivery service.
Requirements
- Grade 12 plus 5 years of related experience or a minimum of 10 years’ work experience
- Plan reading experience is advantageous
- Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language of the area
- Above-average numeric skills
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Ability to work under pressure
- Computer literacy
- Strong organizing, planning, and delegation skills
Key Performance Areas
Sales
- Issuing and following up on quotations to generate sales
- Managing the quote process and control of special orders
- Reading building plans and ensuring quotations are accurate and timely
- Managing telephone communications and follow-ups
- Conducting competitor analysis to ensure competitiveness
- Communicating bulk deposit transfers to customers
- Promoting loyalty programs (VIC and Charge Card Customers)
Deliveries
- Managing an efficient delivery service with correct rates
- Dispatching deliveries within the required time frame
- Communicating delays and making appropriate arrangements with customers
Customer Service
- Managing the customer service desk effectively
- Recording, following up, and resolving customer complaints
- Ensuring efficient customer service at all times
- Answering calls within the required time with proper etiquette
