Sales (Branch) Manager
Job description
Minimum Requirements:
- Understanding the Plastic Packaging market would be advantageous
- An understanding of packaging essential
- Computer Literacy (EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT, SAP would be a benefit)
- Ability to work proactively, think laterally and analytically
- Ability to organize and manage own time and processes self-discipline
- Ability to do budgeting
- Sales and marketing qualifications would be advantageous
- At least 4 to 6 years of external sales experience
- Ability to close deals efficiently and effectively
- Ability to deal with all levels of employees including senior management
- Drivers license pre-requisite (Code 08)
- Experience managing a team (experience in Stock or Logistics would be advantageous)
Responsibilities:
- Managing the small team at the branch and the Stores and Distribution function on-site
- Coordinating stock and deliveries from Pinetown to warehouse, and stock management on-site
- Managing H&S, ISO, and Food Safety for the branch
- Property Maintenance and security for the branch
- Day-to-day calling on customers and management of key accounts
- Sourcing of new customers/business
- Managing sales effectively ensuring that sales budgets are beaten
- Developing effective relationships with new and current Customers
- Identifying and creating new opportunities in the industry
- Proactively monitoring sales, customers, and competitors
- Presenting professional price proposals in writing to all customers
- Developing relevant sales budgets in conjunction with the Executive
- Reporting weekly on sales
- Interfacing with production, planning, and design departments
- Ensuring that stock is managed effectively and that obsolescence costs are minimized
- Ensuring all customer requirements and complaints are communicated appropriately and dealt with timeously
