Job description

Multinational Electrical Distributor looking for Sales Manager to join their diverse organisation.

POSITION INFO :

Supervising commercial operations for the Power Conversion and Expert Services Business Applications Africa. Develop sales in the various channels throughout the region. Commercial sales management.

Responsibilities :

  • Assesses the size of the market, market shares, and potential business development on the National / Regional market (South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya).
  • Implements and deploys adapted Sales Strategy.
  • Provides figures and sales forecasts.

Sales and Marketing :

  • Deploys the Commercial Action Plan (targets & actions) and contributes to the development of the budget.
  • Performs customer visits (existing customers and prospecting) and manages professional customer relationships. Scouts for new distributors and develops existing ones. Organises and coordinates prescription and specification activity in the territory.
  • Organises and participates in events and exhibitions.
  • Responsible for profit and loss, pricing, and expenditure.
  • Ensures budget adherence.

Management :

  • Sets up collective and individual objectives, follows up and supports daily operations, defines and follows up individual development, and develops team spirit and company values within the team.
  • Ensures compliance with local applicable rules and the company’s ethical standards.

Qualifications :

  • Technical degree in electrical engineering with at least 10 years of sales experience, preferably in a multinational context, comfortable in a multicultural and transversal environment.
  • Experience in Power conversion (UPS), power switches, and energy storage systems highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience in team management (4 direct reports) and willingness to travel frequently within the territory (roughly 1 week per month).
  • Occasional travel to Europe for training.
  • Looking for a diverse individual who is comfortable conversing with a multitude of different cultures and countries.
