Sales and Marketing Manager (Medical Equipment) – Johannesburg.

A well-established and proudly South African medical equipment manufacturer is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Sales and Marketing Manager to join their team.

The company, known for its advanced x-ray imaging systems, is the sole local producer of this life-saving technology and has successfully expanded to international markets including North America and Namibia.

This role is pivotal in driving both national and African regional growth, managing a sales team, and building brand presence in a highly specialised and slow-moving industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading strategic sales initiatives, developing marketing campaigns, and opening doors across public and private healthcare sectors.

Salary: R52 500 – R65 000 per month.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity
  • Proven track record in the sale of medical equipment (private and public sector)
  • Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (forecasting & reporting)
  • Professional certification (e.g. Certified Sales Leader) advantageous
  • Solid knowledge of marketing platforms and analytics tools
  • Experience in building and managing high-performing sales teams
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute national and international sales and marketing strategies
  • Build and lead a high-performing sales team (with opportunity to hire own team)
  • Generate and analyse market and client data to identify growth opportunities
  • Engage key stakeholders in hospitals, forensic units, and government departments
  • Deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals
  • Drive brand awareness through creative marketing campaigns and digital content
  • Establish and manage budgets, sales forecasts, and KPI reporting
  • Oversee marketing content, website material, and print collateral
  • Forge partnerships with healthcare institutions and international distributors
  • Manage CRM systems and contribute to lead generation and conversion strategies
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO, product managers, and CRM team
  • Drive outreach across Africa with a strong focus on long-cycle sales
  • Uphold regulatory compliance for medical device sales and documentation
