Job description

Our client is looking for a Sales and Marketing Coordinator to join their team in Maitland, Cape Town. The company is a well-established importer and distributor in the FMCG industry, seeking an experienced and energetic individual to coordinate all marketing campaigns, initiatives, and activities aimed at promoting the business. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping digital and traditional marketing strategies, driving brand visibility, and contributing to long-term strategic growth.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct research to analyse the competitive landscape, market trends, and customer behaviour.
  2. Plan and manage marketing efforts for trade shows, conferences, events, in-store promotions, retailers, and meetings.
  3. Develop a wide range of marketing content, including social media posts, blog posts, radio/TV adverts, website content, print materials, and e-commerce promotions.
  4. Oversee and maintain digital platforms including WooCommerce and WordPress, focusing on marketing integration rather than technical development.
  5. Create and design marketing material using graphic design skills.
  6. Monitor and manage paid spend on social media platforms, performance reporting, and analytics (including Google Analytics and dark ads).
  7. Coordinate and manage relationships with external vendors, brand influencers, and social media partners.
  8. Work closely with consultants and leadership to develop and implement a master marketing strategy.
  9. Communicate campaign deliverables, objectives, and timelines across departments.
  10. Monitor, analyse, and report on the success of marketing campaigns.
  11. Report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a recognised marketing/social media qualification.
  2. Minimum of 5 years' proven experience in a marketing department, with at least 7–10 years specifically in digital marketing and social media management.
  3. Proficient in social media strategy, paid campaigns, audience targeting, analytics, and performance reporting.
  4. Strong experience with website content updates and digital marketing tools (e.g., WordPress, WooCommerce).
  5. Self-starter who can work independently and provide strategic direction.
  6. Strong communication, innovation, and creative problem-solving skills.
  7. Graphic design proficiency is essential.
  8. Valid driver’s licence.
