Job description

  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of field-based sales agentsoperating across multiple regions.

  • Set and monitor performance targets (sales volume, market growth, new customer acquisition).

  • Conduct regular field visits, team meetings, and one-on-one sessions with Sales Agents.

  • Review and approve weekly/monthly sales reports, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment.

  • Guide the team in identifying new business opportunities, strategic accounts, and regional priorities.

  • Ensure consistent messaging, pricing, and branding across the sales function.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with business goals.

  • Monitor and improve product branding, packaging, and marketing material.

  • Oversee product launches and campaigns that support regional sales efforts.

  • Support the sales team with high-level customer interactions and escalated issues.

  • Deliver presentations and product updates at farmer’s days, trade shows, and stakeholder events.

  • Build strategic partnerships with key clients and influencers in the industry.

  • Work closely with the Technical, Operations, and Procurement teams to align supply chain, product forecasting, and customer demand.

  • Ensure effective communication between Sales Agents, internal departments, and clients.

  • Provide training to sales agents and customers on technical and product knowledge.

  • Lead internal training sessions to ensure Sales Agents are equipped with up-to-date industry knowledge and sales techniques.

  • Manage and track the marketing and sales budget, including return on marketing investment.

  • Provide monthly management reports with key insights, progress to goals, and recommendations.

  • Analyse sales data, customer trends, and competitor activities to inform strategy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BSc (Agric) Animal Science or similar degree

  • Deep understanding of animal nutrition and the animal feed industry.

  • Minimum 5 years in a marketing or sales leadership role, ideally in agriculture or animal feed sector.

  • Experience managing and developing sales team is required.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Afrikaans and English fluency essential.
