Job description

Our client in the Payment Services industry is looking for a dynamic Sales Account Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for increasing profitable sales in the B2B market, maintaining existing allocated account revenue (if any), building market intelligence to identify new business opportunities, and generating new opportunities in the market against target customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a tangible progressed sales pipeline (build new opportunity pipeline, manage the accuracy and reporting of your pipeline, close relevant pipeline opportunities).
  2. Minimise churn and maximise existing and new revenues with target contribution being a key performance indicator.
  3. Provide thought leadership to engage new clients and exceed expectations based on constructing and delivering a winning proposition and customer business cases for customers.
  4. Provide input into deal shaping and evangelising innovative business models to fast track the profitable consumption of the company's products and services.
  5. Develop a growth strategy for your portfolio focused on achieving in-month targets and revenue growth.
  6. Constantly keep abreast of market research to identify new markets and customer needs.
  7. Ensure delivery of annual revenue targets through delivery of a full and diversified product mix.
  8. Lead competitive learning by market research, evaluating competitor products, programs, weaknesses, strengths, and strategies.
  9. Develop and implement plans for quickly developing your sales territory.
  10. Self-generate new business opportunities.
  11. Work closely with product and marketing teams to ensure market adoption of our products and promote new customer opportunities where necessary.

Core Competencies, Knowledge and Experience:

  1. 5-8 years solution sales experience in the Payment Services industry (Non-Negotiable).
  2. Knowledge of the payment landscape and/or payment services in South Africa and Africa (Essential).
  3. Industry Technology Knowledge on emerging technology (Cloud, PaaS, networking).
  4. Setting goals and developing plans for business and revenue growth.
  5. Excellent customer relationship management.
  6. Critical negotiation, organisational and planning skills.
  7. Understanding of technical concepts and the ability to communicate them as viable appealing market offerings.
  8. Ability to engage at CXX level.
  9. Ability to translate ICT and Financial Services principles to customer business value.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 3-year commercial (B. Com / Business Science, IT) Degree or Equivalent qualification.
