Job description

The role involves leading a team, driving performance, resolving site-level issues, supporting retailers, and optimising existing business while acting as a key liaison between operations and retail stations.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to the Sales Managers and Retail Support Officer.
  • Drive business performance and find innovative ways to meet the demands and needs of retailers within your areas.
  • Resolve operational issues promptly at site level to ensure retailers meet their contractual responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the sales team by meeting deadlines and goals to ensure a resilient business model.
  • Maintain, develop, and optimise existing business.
  • Act as a liaison between Operations and retail service stations.
  • Direct and empower a team of 4 sales managers to achieve outstanding performance against KPIs.
  • Drive and oversee the Retail Support Officer to deliver excellent performance.
  • Develop skills and provide ongoing coaching to the team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers and key stakeholders.

Monitor and Report on SHEQ performance :

  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, security, and environmental standards, including safety audits, emergency response plans, trained staff, and operational CCTV.
  • Manage the Safe Delivery process.
  • Verify fuel stock reconciliations and report incidents promptly.

Monitor and Report on Site Visits :

  • Conduct regular on-site meetings with retailers over an 8-week cycle, documented in site call reports.
  • Perform routine site visits to strengthen retailer relationships, including discussions on business growth and SHEQ checks.
  • Identify and meet with financially sound and experienced potential retailers.

Monitor and Report on Performance Management :

  • Reopen temporarily closed sites.
  • Manage non-performing retailers.
  • Oversee P&L performance of the network.
  • Achieve volumetric targets and execute loyalty programs.
  • Innovate to meet customer demands and boost retail performance.
  • Hold regular meetings with Sales Managers and Retail Support Officers to ensure objectives are met and support is provided.

Monitor and Report on Quality Control :

  • Ensure operational standards are met.
  • Implement customer service training.

Monitor and Report on Credit Policy Compliance :

  • Manage credit risk with retailers.
  • Coordinate with treasury to address non-secured retailers.

Monitor and Report on Contract Renewals :

  • Renew contracts based on financial criteria.
  • Prepare and submit a summary of deal structures for approval.

People Agenda :

  • Foster a team environment where goals are collaboratively set.
  • Provide coaching to develop actions and solutions at site level.
  • Lead and coach the team to achieve their objectives.
