Job summary

Corient is seeking a Trainee Accountant in Cape Town to support the SAIPA training programme. The role involves maintaining accounting records for offshore and onshore trusts and companies and preparing accurate financial statements.

You will work closely with a team across Cape Town and Johannesburg and report to the Client Accounting Team Leader. Success depends on collaboration with team members, clients, the offshore accounting team, and external stakeholders while developing expertise in

Qualifications

Accounting knowledge and competence including IFRS for SMEs
Basic understanding of trusts and investments
Understanding and interpretation of financial statements

Responsibilities

Maintain accounts up to trial balance level and prepare onshore financial statements
Maintain entity ledgers regularly and ensure they are up-to-date
Provide external service providers with information to prepare financial reports, tax and other statutory returns
Liaise with the Trust Administrator and Middle Office to ensure supporting documents are in place
Provide client reporting for meetings and decision-making
Prepare reporting for local and international tax purposes
