Job summary

IGrow Wealth Investments Group of Companies in Cape Town seeks a SAIPA Trainee Accountant to gain hands-on experience in an established accounting firm based in Durbanville. You will work under mentorship to perform essential accounting tasks and contribute to client service and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a BCom in related fields, strong Excel/Word skills, and a proactive, deadline-driven approach. Valid driver’s license and own transport are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Completed BCom in Management Accounting, Financial Management or a related field.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Deadline-driven with the ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Capture transactions in accounting records.
• Perform reconciliations.
• Perform bookkeeping to trial balance.
• Interpreting clients’ accounting records and compiling annual financial statements (IFRS for SME).
• Perform tax calculations and complete income tax returns and provisional tax returns.
• Perform VAT and PAYE calculations in order to submit returns on E-filing.
• Assist accountants with various client matters, including administrative work.
• Perform SAIPA competency framework tasks.
• Any other tasks related to the role as a SAIPA Trainee Accountant.
