Qualifications

• BCom Financial Accounting or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Candidates completing their relevant qualification may be considered, subject to the training programme requirements.
• An academic background that meets the SAIPA training and registration criteria.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and management accounts.
• Perform bookkeeping and general accounting functions.
• Assist with reconciliations, journals and general ledger reviews.
• Support the preparation and submission of tax returns and related SARS documentation.
• Assist with audit assignments and the preparation of supporting working papers where required.
• Help prepare budgets, cash-flow forecasts and management reports.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with client queries and obtain outstanding financial information.
• Work with senior accountants and supervisors to complete assignments within deadlines.
• Participate in internal training and professional development activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with professional and ethical standards.
