Job summary

IGrow Wealth Investments is seeking a detail-oriented SAIPA-qualified accountant to join our Durbanville team as a professional accountant. The role involves processing transactions, signing off financial statements, and handling tax returns for companies, trusts, VAT, and individuals.

The candidate will supervise bookkeepers/trainees, engage with clients, and contribute to trusts and corporate structures to optimize tax benefits and wealth creation.

Qualifications

• Qualified Professional Accountant with SAIPA registration.
• Minimum 1 year post-articles experience.
• Proficiency in Draftworx, Xero, payroll software and Excel.
• Experience managing a team and client engagements.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical/numerical skills.
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Process accounting transactions up to trial balance.
• Compile and sign-off of Annual Financial Statements in IFRS for SMEs.
• Calculate and submit Company/Trust Income Tax Returns and Provisional Tax.
• Perform VAT reconciliations, calculations and submissions.
• Conduct Personal Income Tax calculations and submissions.
• Supervise bookkeepers/trainees and review their work.

Minimum requirements (Advantageous):

• Professional Accountant (SA) registered with SAIPA.
• Minimum 1 year of post articles experience.
• Knowledge of relevant computer programs such as Draftworx, Xero, Payroll packages and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience managing a team and client engagements
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Valid drivers license and own vehicle.

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Processing accounting transactions up to trial balance.
• Compilation and sign-off of Annual Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS for SMEs.
• Company and Trust Income Tax Return calculation and submission.
• Provisional tax calculation and submission.
• VAT reconciliation, calculation and submission.
• Personal income tax calculations and submissions.
• Supervising and providing guidance to bookkeepers/trainees, if applicable.
• Review of work performed by bookkeepers/trainees, including accounting processing, Annual Financial Statements, Income Tax Returns, Provisional tax calculations, VAT and EMP recons and submissions.
• Raising adequate review queries on work performed by bookkeepers/trainees to promote a learning environment and to assist the Accountants with their workload.
• Assist the Accountants with managing client portfolios and maintaining sound client relationships.
• Leading team training sessions on occasion.
• Providing IGrow investors with guidance, by implementing trusts as well as corporate and commercial structures, to optimise tax benefits, wealth creation and risk mitigation.
• Supervising timely submission of all deliverables.
• SARS appointments and queries.
• Any other output that may be reasonably required from this role.
