Saica Trainee Accountant

SAICA TRAINEE ACCOUNTANT
Location: Menlo Park, Pretoria
Salary: R 16 000, 00 (R 192 000 00 per annum) + Study bursary
Starting Date: ASAP

Our client is a well-established auditing practice, which is registered with IRBA and SAICA and as a training office for the auditing elective. They have a great team and culture, and give their SAICA trainees a well-rounded and complete training experience to enable their trainees to grow and develop into Chartered Accountants of the future.

Requirements:
Completion of a SAICA accredited Bachelor’s degree, or at an advanced stage of completion of a SAICA accredited Bachelor’s degree. They must have completed their Degree, or be in their final year, but it’s a Degree, not a Diploma.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Working under the guidance of experienced Chartered Accountants / SAIPA Professional Accountants / Registered Auditors
2. Hands-on working environment with active participation in all aspects of rendering services to clients
3. Assisting with the preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns
4. Conducting audits and assurance engagements in compliance with auditing standards
5. Participating in client meetings and liaising with clients on financial matters
6. Developing a strong understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and auditing procedures
7. Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices
8. Working collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality services to clients
9. Actively pursuing the completion of a SAICA accredited bachelor’s degree if the degree is not yet completed
10. Duties and competencies as set out in the SAICA Training Regulations

All applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Must be proficient in English - read, write and speak, and basic Afrikaans
2. Must agree to complete the SAICA training contract, for the Trainee Accountant to qualify as a Chartered Accountant (SA)

Study Requirements:

1. At an advanced stage of completion of a SAICA accredited bachelor’s degree, or qualify to do a conversion course if the degree is not SAICA accredited, or completion of a SAICA accredited bachelor’s degree
2. Trainee Accountant must enroll as follows:
   1. Enroll to continue with the SAICA accredited bachelor’s studies, or
   2. Enroll for a SAICA accredited postgraduate degree, or
   3. Enroll for a SAICA accredited bridging course.
3. Strong academic record: Applicants with a poor academic record will not be considered
4. Must be fully computer literate: MS Office
5. Valid SA drivers’ licence
6. Resident in Pretoria or willing to relocate to Pretoria, or be within reasonable travelling distance of Pretoria for daily commuting to the office in Menlo Park, Pretoria.
