A leading institution is looking for a Security Manager to oversee site security and manage visitor services at the garden. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 qualification, relevant experience, and a PSIRA grade B certificate, ensuring safety and a welcoming environment for visitors. This role includes supporting health and safety measures, coordinating responses to emergencies, and providing excellent customer service.
The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is seeking a highly motivated, efficient, and enthusiastic individual to manage site security and provide information to garden visitors.
This position requires a Grade 12, Job Specific Qualification, or an equivalent qualification at NQF 4 with 4 years of relevant work experience, OR a National Diploma in Security Management or an Advanced Certificate, or equivalent qualification at NQF 6 with 3 years of relevant work experience.
An Higher Education Qualification / Advanced Diploma at NQF 7 will be an added advantage.
Required competencies include: a valid PSIRA grade B certificate, ability to work under pressure, extensive experience with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks related to Safety & Security Management, safety and service focus, advanced planning and organizing skills, statistical report writing skills, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, computer literacy including MS Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet, and Outlook.
A valid driver’s license with at least one year of practical driving experience and willingness to travel are essential.
Key responsibilities include supporting garden information services, providing security and risk management, ensuring visitor services and public relations, coordinating health and safety management, and supporting human resources management.
