Job Title: Safety Officer - Full Time / Onsite

Purpose: The Safety Officer will be responsible for health and safety protocols, conducting occupational health assessments, accident investigations, security measures, and safety training programs.
Qualifications

- Experience in safety compliance and regulatory requirements
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and other relevant legislation
- Conduct regular workplace risk assessments and audits
- Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the Department of Labour during inspections and audits
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and training as required by law
- Support the implementation and monitoring of the company's Health and Safety Management System
- Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of safety policies
- Manage employee compliance with safety protocols, including disciplinary procedures for violations
- Promote employee awareness and engagement in health and safety matters
Additional Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of South African labour laws related to health and safety
- Experience in managing compliance with statutory reporting and documentation
- Certification or training in first aid and emergency response
- Ability to develop and deliver safety training aligned with legal requirements
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple compliance tasks and deadlines
- Experience working within the Logistics & Supply Chain Industry
