Safety Officer

We are seeking a dedicated person who will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by identifying and mitigating hazards, enforcing health and safety regulations, and promoting workplace safety culture.

What We’re Looking For

• Grade 12
• SAMTRAC qualification
• Fire Fighter certificate is advantageous
• First Aid certificate is advantageous
• Incident Investigation certificate is advantageous
• HAZCHEM training is advantageous
• Legal Liability training is advantageous
• Good interpersonal skills
• Well-presented and able to work well under pressure
• Must be able to understand the importance of policies & procedures
• Must be systematic
• Excellent knowledge of Toilet hire and Hygiene Customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all Sanitech staff attends the medicals and induction required to work on sites.
• Ensure that all Sanitech staff and vehicles are badged at all times and follow up with the site agent to ensure that he knows the expiry dates
• Update the safety files with the new licences issued, badges, medicals, training (first aid and fire fighting)
• Prepare the appointment letters for the various Sanitech personnel on the various sites.
• Attend the various weekly and monthly safety meetings and feedback the details to the Branch manager through the submission of a weekly report
• Ensure that the points discussed in the safety meetings are communicated to the staff and a toolbox talk register is signed off
• Conduct a site inspection once a month.
• Ensure that our Sanitech Safety Files are updated and complete the monthly checklist.
• Prepare the SHE files required for new site roll outs
