Well-known health and safety consulting firm is looking for a Safety, Health, and Risk Specialist to join their team in JHB, East Rand.
Responsibilities:
- Work within a formalised quality management system, including procedures, document templates, and reporting.
- Initiate audits and intervention work based on accepted proposals.
- Finalize reports within 5 working days after intervention, as per IMS.
- Collect, analyze, evaluate, and distribute client SH&E information according to our audit reporting system.
- Chair health and safety meetings.
- Prepare accurate reports, including risk assessments and audits.
- Plan and schedule interventions with clients.
- Apply practical knowledge of the OHS Act 85 of 1993, regulations, SANS 10400, and related standards.
- Work in various operational environments, with exposures such as computer work, fall risks, enclosed spaces, heat, noise, poor lighting, chemicals, and electricity.
- Ensure quality standards of materials and services.
- Meet goals and deadlines set by the Branch Manager.
- Adhere to high ethical standards and comply with all regulations and laws.
- Network to enhance the branch and company's reputation and secure new business.
- Stay updated on market trends and industry developments to advise clients accordingly.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Grade 12 Certificate at NQF 5 or equivalent (RPL), or a National Certificate/Diploma in HSE.
- SETA-approved Health and Safety Representative course.
- SETA-approved Risk Assessment course.
- At least 4-6 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to wear PPE as issued.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home.
- Excellent knowledge of industry rules, regulations, and building legislation.
- Proficiency in English, MS Word, and Access.
- Attention to detail, results-driven, and customer-focused.
- Ability to assist with additional duties as required.
