Job summary

Green Marble Recruitment Consultants is seeking a Health & Safety professional in Gauteng, South Africa, to compile, maintain and improve safety files, risk assessments, SOPs, and training records. The role requires 3–5 years' relevant experience in health & safety, plus qualifications such as SAMTRAC or an OHS Diploma, with a construction/scaffolding background and knowledge of MHSA.

You will conduct site inspections, coordinate inductions and toolbox talks, and support the H&S team with audits

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in a health & safety role.
• Relevant health and safety qualification (SAMTRAC or OHS Diploma).
• Construction/scaffolding background.
• Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Experience with Passport 360 and HSEC Online.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Strong attention to detail and administrative ability.

Responsibilities

• Compile, update, and maintain comprehensive health and safety files.
• Prepare Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and SOPs.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Assist with logging, tracking, and investigating accidents and near-misses.
• Coordinate employee safety inductions and toolbox talks.
• Maintain safety training and certification records.
• Audit and maintain first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and PPE registers.
• Monitor safety compliance and follow up on corrective actions.
• Assist with OHSA and Construction Regulations compliance.
• Prepare safety presentations, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Provide administrative support to Head of Operations and H&S team.
• Promote a strong safety-first culture throughout the workplace.
