You’ll be the brains behind our distribution network, ensuring our customers receive their deliveries on time and in full , while keeping our costs as low as possible. You’ll work alongside our team to create flawless route plans, solve real-time delivery challenges, and make sure everything runs smoother than a freshly tarmacked road.
What you’ll be doing :
On-Time Deliveries :
- Use a Transport Management Tool (TMS) like a pro to create cost-effective delivery plans that meet customer SLAs (Service Level Agreements, a.k.a. the golden rules of logistics).
- Check in with our Warehouse & Logistics Managers daily to review and adjust those routes. Who needs dull meetings when you can have a strategic routing session?
- Master the art of scheduling, ensuring long-haul routes get loaded first and the shorter ones last—just like a perfectly organised wardrobe (except, it’s trucks, not clothes).
- Be the hero when trucks break down—re-allocate, reprioritise, and communicate like a well-oiled machine.
- Communication is key – sharing Delivery Schedules with stakeholders and responding to queries. Overtime? You’ll make sure it’s covered and let the Warehouse & Logistics Manager know when things go a little extra .
Distribution Planning :
- Review those brilliant reports on truck utilisation (actual vs planned, tonnage, stops, etc.) and fine-tune the plans to maintain low costs and high efficiency. Efficiency is your middle name.
- Identify those underutilised routes and vehicles and work your magic to get them firing on all cylinders.
- Collaborate with the Distribution Manager to recommend fleet requirements and ensure our delivery needs are met without breaking the bank.
- Non-deliveries? No problem. Investigate, solve, and get things back on track—stat! You’ll also keep an eye on customer returns. No one likes a return slip-up.
- Always thinking ahead, you’ll find new opportunities to optimise our processes and save on costs. Innovation is your second nature.
Admin Tasks :
- Keep customer data up to date in the ERP and TMS systems.
- Report on your performance and keep everyone informed about your adherence to KPIs.
