Job description

Our Sandton-based client is looking for an extraordinary, energetic & delightful Housekeeper to join their team of exceptional Housekeepers.

Must have worked previously at a guest house, lodge, or hotel.

If you have experience working in a luxurious environment, providing a high level of service, and always going above & beyond… this opportunity is for you!

Shift details: 12-hour shifts, with 1.5 days off per week.

Your daily duties will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Housework tasks:
  • Laundry – machine wash, hand wash, hang, iron, and pack away.
  • General tidying of the house – cleaning walls, windows, light switches, ornaments, household equipment (brooms, mops, etc.), mopping floors, cleaning inside cupboards, polishing floors and verandas.
  • Bedroom – making beds, clearing and organizing items.
  • Bathrooms – cleaning toilets, basins, bathtubs, floors, windows; steaming twice a week.
  • Kitchen – cleaning stove, fridge, freezer, appliances, crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans; packing groceries; washing, drying, and packing dishes; cleaning after meals; setting tables.
  • Rooms – cleaning outside areas, cloakrooms, wiping and dusting appliances (TV, radio, tables).
  • General tasks – shining pots, brass, and silverware.
  • Replenishing supplies – soap, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, towels, tissue boxes.
  • Replacing used ashtrays, lighting candles, spraying room fragrances.
  • Filling fruit bowls, cleaning up after meetings and guest visits.
  • Small mending work – replacing buttons, hems, etc.
  • Maintaining flower arrangements – replacing water, rinsing stems.
  • Cleaning and rotating stock in fridge and freezers, packing groceries, wiping bottles.
  • Ensuring household items are styled as per SOPs.
