Scope of Position:
Reporting to the Housekeeping Management, the Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring the highest level of cleanliness in guestrooms, providing day cleans, and nightly turndown service for all guestrooms.
Requirements:
- Outstanding guest service skills, professional presentation, and sophisticated communication skills.
- Proficiency in English (verbal & written); second language is an asset.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in an intense, changing environment.
- Flexible working hours.
- Physical fitness.
- Sound knowledge of beverages and cocktails.
Responsibilities:
- Signing in and out master keys daily.
- Proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Updating and marking assigned rooms.
- Keeping linen closets, supply closets, and landings organized and clean.
- Emptying vacuum cleaner when full.
- Reporting problems or questions to the supervisor.
- Assisting guests and colleagues courteously.
- Using hands to lift, carry, or pull heavy objects.
- Understanding instructions and learning procedures.
- Performing routine tasks daily.
- Using 'Cleaning in Progress' signs and keeping doors closed during room cleaning.
- Calling In Room Dining for tray/trolley removal.
- Reporting lost and found items, equipment malfunctions, suspicious persons, and safety hazards.
- Maintaining grooming and uniform standards.
- Following department policies.
- Reporting valuables and safe issues.
- Performing other duties as required, attending trainings, and pre-shift briefings.
Early Shift:
- Reporting rooms not requiring service and noting it on the assignment paper.
- Reporting mattress protectors, blankets, bedspreads, and valances needing change.
- Cleaning a set number of rooms per shift, depending on operational needs.
Turndown:
- Preparing linen for turndown work.
- Performing turndown duties including tidying, bed-making, linen changing, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, and replenishing supplies as per standards.
- Reporting rooms not requiring service and noting it on the assignment paper.
- Turndown a set number of rooms per shift.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a 5-star environment preferred.
- Basic English language skills in reading and writing.
