A manufacturing firm in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Foreman with at least 5 years in a supervisory production role. The ideal candidate should hold a diploma in Management or a related field and be a qualified Artisan, Fitter & Turner or Boilermaker. Key skills include welding, understanding mechanical drawings, and knowledge of safety and quality management standards. Ability to work day and night shifts is essential.
MINIMUM SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
âªA proven track record in a production environment with a minimum of 5 years experience in a related Foreman / Supervisory position.
A Diploma or equivalent; higher education such as an Associates Management, Industrial Engineering or related field is preferred.
âªQualified Artisan : Fitter & Turner or Boilermaker
âªThe ability to read drawings (Mechanical).
âªProven track record of Shop floor experience.
âªKnowledge of the OSH Act and experience in the administration of Safety, Health and Environmental requirements.
âªKnowledge of current labour law and basic I.R. procedures.
âªStrong knowledge of quality management.
âªWelding experience required.
âªComputer literate (particularly Excel) and knowledge of Syspro is a requirement.
âªGood verbal and written English communication skills at all levels are essential.
âªMust we willing and able to work, day and night shift.
âªPrevious experience of setting of machinery is required, including CNC machines.
âªExcellent cutting, drilling, tapping and welding knowledge is required with proven track record.
