Job summary

MA Automotive Tool and Die (PTY) Ltd is seeking a skilled Robot Technician to perform electrical maintenance, preventative maintenance and fault finding on industrial robots and project installations in an automotive setting.

The role requires a qualified Electrician/Millwright/Mechatronics or related engineering background with at least 5 years of experience with ABB and KUKA robots, reading electronic drawings and a strong problem-solving approach.

Qualifications

• NQF 6 or equivalent in a relevant field
• Qualified Electrician, Millwright or mechatronics/Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation engineering
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Robot Technician in an automotive environment
• Extensive working knowledge of ABB and KUKA robots
• Ability to read electronic drawings

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain robots to meet customer and company quality standards.
• Perform fault finding and preventative maintenance as per schedule and instructions.
• Compile feedback on time sheets to ensure accurate repair data.
• Adhere to company procedures, works instructions and quality systems.
• Participate in the departmental M2S as required.
• Ensure work practices comply with SHEQ procedures and instructions.

Job description

Primary purpose of the job

Perform general electrical maintenance, preventative maintenance as well as fault finding maintenance on industrial robots, project installations and robotic applications.

Key Performance Areas

• Repair and maintain robots to ensure customer and company quality standards are met.
• Do fault finding and preventative maintenance as per maintenance schedule and according to job cards and relevant work instruction.
• Compile feedback on time sheets to ensure accurate repair data.
• Ensure that company procedures, works instructions and quality systems are adhered to at all times.
• Participate actively in the departmental M2S as per company requirement.
• Ensure that work practises comply with the company SHEQ procedures and works instructions.
