About the Role
The risk officer is part of the risk management team responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of risk policies and procedures in an organization. They also analyze various financial data to estimate the degree of risk and level of associated risk involved in extending credit or establishing a business relationship with firms or individuals.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance to the Quality Management Standards through the QC Inspection process.
- Initiate and assist with all the necessary Injury on Duty (IOD) reporting and accompanying processes and procedures.
- Ensure that all accidents and incidents are reported and fully investigated and appropriate corrective processes are put in place.
- Promote and drive the SMART 'continuous improvement' culture through all levels of the organisation.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operational security and customer satisfaction through effective compliance and support.
- Ensure that security procedures are according to standards set within the Menzies Security Manual standards.
- Implementation of wide security standards and practices to ensure that the employees working on the ramps have the necessary direction and control.
- Establish and maintain an effective security liaison with the SACAA, Airport Authorities as well as other government and law enforcement agencies.
- Conduct Risk Assessments as and when required.
Requirements
- Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- A relevant qualification in Health & Safety, Quality and / or Security.
- Safety and Standards experience within Aviation and more specifically ground handling will be highly advantageous.
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literate.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Customer services orientated with excellent communication skills.
