Risk Manager (Ref : 23942)

Position Overview : We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to oversee and manage the risk function for a team of two staff members in the insurance industry.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to ensure the business operates within a controlled and compliant environment.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Lead and manage a team of two risk staff members, providing guidance, support, and performance management.
2. Develop, implement, and maintain risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures to minimize risk exposure.
3. Conduct risk assessments, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
4. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management programs.
5. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards.
6. Liaise with internal departments and external regulators on risk-related matters.
7. Report on risk management activities and risk mitigation progress to senior management.
8. Provide strategic insights and recommendations for continuous improvement in risk management processes.

Qualifications & Experience :

1. BCom degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
2. RE 5 (or RE 1) certification is a requirement.
3. At least 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the insurance industry, with a preference for short-term insurance experience.
4. Experience managing or mentoring a team is beneficial.
