Job Description
To manage the day-to-day delivery of Risk & Regulatory teams in delivering risk and regulatory change related engagements, including:
- Business development
- Engagement planning, e.g. effort/cost estimation, and engagement/project management
- Issue diagnosis, solution generation, design and deployment
- Staff management and coaching
- Stakeholder management and reporting
Responsibilities
- Support clients in assessing and enhancing their credit risk frameworks (e.g., credit risk appetite, risk ratings, provisioning, portfolio analysis, stress testing).
- Assist in the interpretation and implementation of regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III/IV, IFRS 9, ICAAP).
- Conduct diagnostic reviews of credit governance structures, processes, policies, models, and systems. Design and implement solutions that will help progress and build momentum with this area.
- Engage with stakeholders across risk, finance, and compliance functions to deliver value-added insights.
- Managing the delivery teams of a range of risk and regulatory change related engagements.
- Produce high-quality client deliverables including presentations, reports, and working papers.
- Contribute to business development through proposal support, thought leadership, and client relationship building.
Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree is required, with preference for an Honours or master's degree in one of the following fields:
- Finance or Accounting
- Risk Management
- Quantitative disciplines (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics or Economics)
- Relevant professional certifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA), the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or FRM (Financial Risk Manager) are highly advantageous.
Competencies
- Deep understanding of banking products, processes, and control environments, with a strong specialism in credit risk across the lifecycle (origination, monitoring, provisioning, and capital).
- Demonstrated experience with regulatory frameworks, including Basel III/IV, ICAAP, and regulatory reporting requirements, with a track record of supporting or leading the preparation of capital and credit risk-related regulatory returns.
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary project teams, with experience delivering complex engagements — ideally involving risk systems, data architecture, or infrastructure implementations.
- Expertise in designing and embedding 'best-in-class' risk frameworks, policies, and governance structures, including the development of risk measurement methodologies and stress testing frameworks.
- Strong capability to interpret and communicate complex risk and regulatory concepts clearly and confidently to a range of stakeholders, from technical teams to executive leadership.
- Consulting agility — the ability to adapt to diverse client contexts and contribute effectively across strategy, advisory, and implementation roles.
- Sound commercial and business acumen, with an ability to identify client needs, propose solutions, and contribute to practice growth.
