Role Overview: To manage risk in a business area through development and implementation of risk management strategy aligned with segment and group strategy. Manage a team to deliver on strategy, drive platform thinking, and embed risk capabilities to support risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Develop and manage budgets aligned with tactical delivery plans.
  2. Manage expenditure and variances within approved budgets.
  3. Apply a customer-centric approach to ensure satisfaction and optimize customer experience.
  4. Establish relationships with stakeholders to support innovative and integrated practice solutions.
  5. Oversee risk management across the area of responsibility.
  6. Manage risk across multiple disciplines and understand risk-reward trade-offs.
  7. Engage with stakeholders to fulfill risk mandates and set risk appetite.
  8. Ensure effective risk reporting and drive risk maturity within the business.
  9. Manage internal audits, ensure compliance, and report on financial, operational, and managerial processes.
  10. Develop and implement risk mitigation plans and monitor SLAs.
  11. Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and legislative changes, and incorporate these into risk management strategies.
  12. Lead and participate in risk forums, develop legal, risk, and compliance strategies, and ensure policy adherence.
  13. Drive a risk-aware culture through awareness campaigns and escalation of regulatory risks.
  14. Participate in strategic projects, change management, and leverage group capabilities for opportunities.
  15. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and global trends, and provide thought leadership.
  16. Develop and nurture collaborative relationships across business areas.
  17. Manage teams to meet performance and human capital objectives.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Relevant Bachelor of Honours degree (NQF Level 8).
  • 6-8 years’ experience in non-financial risk management.
  • Management experience in risk roles.
