Or client in the financial sector requires an experienced Risk Consultant to provide and implement advice regarding insurance needs and solutions to the company in conjunction with the company's Partners.
Job Responsibilities :
- Analyse and identify Life and Short-Term Insurance (STI) opportunities within the client bases of their panel of financial planning partners.
- Prepare comprehensive advice documents (proposals, comparisons, and quotations) for presentation to clients.
- Provide specialist advice regarding Life Insurance (Death, Disability, and Critical Cover) needs, including areas such as Estate Planning (in conjunction with Fiduciary partners) and Business Assurance.
- Implement the agreed solutions for clients and manage underwriting and onboarding requirements.
- Review clients' coverage according to internal procedures or if client circumstances change.
- Acquire short-term insurance leads from the company’s financial planning partners.
- On receipt of client consent, refer clients to the STI tele-advisor, book appointments, and forward existing short-term insurance schedules for capture prior to the appointment.
- Communicate with the STI tele-advisor to confirm appointment outcomes.
- Maintain and develop client relationships.
- Support initiatives to communicate, educate, and engage clients to better meet their needs.
- Monitor and report on the success of client and partner initiatives.
- Adhere to TCF principles—treating customers fairly.
- Comply with Group and Industry regulatory requirements.
Competencies :
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Broker Consultant / Life Insurance Agent.
- Ability to operate strategically while fulfilling operational responsibilities.
- Meet FAIS honesty, integrity, and good standing requirements.
- Meet FAIS minimum experience requirements for long-term insurance products.
- Must not have been declared insolvent or provisionally insolvent.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Client-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and initiative (self-starter).
- Emotional resilience.
Qualifications :
- Appropriate tertiary qualification (preferably a bachelor’s degree in commerce, finance, or investments).
- Qualification recognized by the FSCA for FAIS purposes.
- Preference for candidates with a CFP.
Experience :
- Must be fully authorized (not under supervision) as a representative for the following FSCA sub-categories, with experience not lapsed:
- 1.3 Long-Term Insurance sub-category B1
- 1.20 Long-Term Insurance sub-category B2
- 1.21 Long-Term Insurance sub-category B2-A
- 1.22 Long-Term Insurance sub-category B1-A
- 1.4 Long-Term Insurance sub-category C
Ability to provide evidence of class of business and product-specific training.Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD hours).Fully computer literate; xPlan experience advantageous.Other :
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
