Risk & Compliance Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Manager to join our team in Durban. The Risk Manager will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the company's operations, financial health, legal compliance, and reputation. This role involves working closely with various departments, UK clients, and as part of the wider risk and compliance team, reporting directly to the Head of Risk and Compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Risk Identification and Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential threats to the organization. Analyse data and trends to detect vulnerabilities.
2. Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies. Collaborate with department heads, UK clients, and the risk and compliance team to ensure risk management policies are adhered to.
3. Compliance: Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and international best practices. Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
4. Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on risk assessments and mitigation plans. Present findings to senior management and the Head of Risk and Compliance, recommending actions.
5. Training and Awareness: Conduct training sessions for staff on risk management practices. Promote a culture of risk awareness throughout the organization.
6. Incident Management: Investigate and manage incidents related to risk. Develop action plans to address and resolve issues promptly.
7. Client Interaction: Work closely with UK clients to understand their risk management needs and provide tailored solutions. Maintain strong client relationships and ensure satisfaction.
8. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the wider risk and compliance team to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management. Share insights and best practices.
9. Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor and improve risk management processes. Implement new tools and techniques to enhance risk management capabilities.

Qualifications/Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in Risk Management.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably within a BPO environment.
3. Strong knowledge of risk assessment techniques, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

1. Master's degree in Risk Management or related field.
2. Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM) or similar.
3. Experience with business continuity planning and disaster recovery.
4. Experience of working with UK financial clients.
