Job description

A global pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a Finance Controller.

Job Purpose:

End to end Accounting and Finance support for Country; Supporting Business Head in different Analysis. Liaising with distributor / Contract manufacturing for account reconciliation and accounting. Product costing, Budgeting, Forecasting and Management reports for South Africa. Cash Management. IFRS, Local VAT and tax compliances. Meeting with customers and follow up on Collections. Delegation and management of small Finance Team; Overall responsible for Country Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Actual P&L / Cash Flow / Balance Sheets as per the specified format from corporate.
  • Preparation of Forecasts P&L / Cash Flow / Balance Sheets.
  • Business Support: in Profitability analysis, Business case preparation, Negotiation with customer / Vendor etc.
  • Monthly reconciliation of Statutory books vs. MIS.
  • Cash management and budgetary control.
  • Active involvement in Accounting software and BI Tool implementation.
  • Budget preparation and Long Range Plan (3-5 years).
  • Liaising with Distributor / Contract Manufacturing and Reconciliation of Stock and Accounting.
  • Handling Tax Audit, VAT, Transfer Pricing, liaising with Local Consultant and India Corporate Taxation Team.
  • Preparation of Financials as per local GAAP and IFRS with all annexure and reconciliations along with Segmental P&L.
  • Collection follow up with customers, Coordinating between distributor and customers on reconciliation.
  • BBBEE finance audit and information.
  • Legal assistance.
  • Information officer (Data protection).
  • Botswana and Namibia operational involvement.

Education and Experience:

  • CIMA, CA or equivalent qualification. Or Part qualified with higher number of years’ experience SBU finance independently.
  • 5-7 years of experience in preparation of both Accounting and management and statutory accounts and Taxation.
  • Experience of handling Country / SBU finance independently.
  • Some experience of small Team management.

Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of Accounting Process and Procedures including expertise in relevant Accounting Software. Good understanding of Management Accounts and Financial Statements. Advanced level of Skill in MS Excel and good IT Skill in all other range of MS Office.
