The role

Santam has an exciting new opportunity for a Risk Analyst within Santam Partnership Solution (SPS), a division of Santam Limited. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Tygervalley, Cape Town.

What will you do?

Assist the Risk Manager with risk management activities across SPS and support the execution of risk monitoring within the business.

What will make you successful in this role?
  • Support ERM functions across all risk types, collaborating with stakeholders to foster a risk-aware culture.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks using tools such as risk registers, surveys, KRIs, RCSAs, and root cause analyses.
  • Ensure timely, accurate reporting to management and external parties, incorporating best practices.
  • Maintain the relevance of Risk Management Frameworks aligned with Santam’s standards.
  • Monitor and track all audit issues within SPS.
  • Assist in the preparation of ERM submissions and coordinate assurance activities.
  • Build and maintain ERM knowledge and document management systems.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders on ERM systems and data quality.
  • Conduct risk training sessions for stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in risk management, insurance, accounting, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant risk management experience in financial services, preferably non-life insurance.
Skills
  • Knowledge of financial services and risk types.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and synthesize information.
  • Experience in report writing and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong time management, assertiveness, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and manage conflicts effectively.
